Hi Guys, Think the "Vote Meter" may be faulty. Voted but did not register the preferences. I would like to see the current groups of 16d, super16d, Sprintcar and Wing 12 continue. Dragracing as soon as the track is ready. Perhaps we could look at a very low budget/maintenance, close competition class as well to get more people interested. Wynnum are running a 16c closed motor class. The motors are sealed and only cost around $15 and are throwaway when the die. They are pretty quick and last for ages. A competative setup is only around 80-90 bucks maximum(off the shelf). I would also like to see a few special events such as enduros, club championship meetings, etc.

Hi Greg,
Your idea with the poll is very good. However may I suggest that we include all main slot car classes which are currently used here at the greater Brisbane area in order to get a better picture. Because let's face it, slot racing includes HO up to Open Wing Cars. Below I have compiled 11 different kinds of slot car classes which are at present used here on different tracks be it in clubs or commercial facilities. Most of them are raced competitively with the exception maybe of GTP 12 Eurosport and Wing Cars, which are only slowly coming back in popularity :
HO Slot Racing from AFX over T-Jets to high performance Wizzard Cars.
Currently the largest market in Slot Car Racing : From Artin over Scalextric and Fly to hand made Racer Cars. Not to forget all the other 150+ manufacturers !
Still the Beginner Class for commercial type track especially with the use of low budget 13D Motors.
1:32 scale racing at its best on wooden tracks also used on larger plastic track layouts. Again most popular with 13D Motors.
A real challenge to drive and great looking.
Features many classes and variety and attracts many good model builders.
The most popular Flexi Class today which offers fair, close and low cost racing.
Popular class especially for racers who want to put together their own motors with a huge selection of aftermarket parts.
The most popular form of slot car racing in the world today. Fully adjustable chassis fits all proper scale bodies be it Lexan, Resin or Hard Plastic.The most adabtable form of slot car racing.
Speed racing without wings. The leading edge in chassis technology is found in this class.
Speed racing at its best. Features many classes beginning wirth Group 12 going up to the Formula 1 of slot car racing : Open Grp 7.
There you have it. I realize that you may only use 8 items in your poll, Greg. But perhaps it could be done within two polls by splitting them 6 to 5 ? Would be interesting.
A final thought to this : There are strangely and sadly some enthusiasts and racers within this hobby of ours, who are simply rejecting or even strictly opposing the very different sides, slot car racing offers us all these days. This for me is completely non-understandable as we all should enjoy and respect the great variety of this hobby which has never been that comprehensive as it is today in its entire history. What do you think ?

Hi Greg,
Your question about myself not voting in your poll is very simple : As I like them all (except for Silver Fish) I would have to tick the lot but this is not working. Therefore voting for only one type would give a totally incorrect impression as I like the spice of variety in slot car racing. However your listing is also somewhat confusing as 16D and S16D Flexi is pretty much the same class and Greg, what is a Silver Fish (normally you use Baygon against these, don't you) ?
Your remark regarding your interest in only "your type of racing" does not come as a surprise. However by posting your poll on this board as well as your invitations to other fellow slot car enthusiasts to respond to your many posts, with this remark you have muted your point badly. Because it is nowhere written that only people racing at one certain track please need to resond, or ?

Well Greg,
Your expected response is there for everybody to read and it gives a good picture about your true character......
I have never had the intention to, nor have I ever tried to rubbish your posts. Quite the opposite, I try to give information on this public forum as ask so by different contributors including yourself. So what is the reason for you to get so upset (and even abusive) over a posted list, with nice pics, which shows to everybody the current types of slot cars and classes used around the place, including "your" track you especially go to ?
I will certainly respect your request not to respond to "your" posts if these are written at your current level. However as we have what we call "free speach" or the right of opinion in this great country of ours we might well have further (hopefully more constructive) conversation down the track.
